This encyclopedic history was written by Andrew Jenson, the Assistant Church Historian for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and published in 1941. Jenson worked closely with many prominent church leaders and was recognized for his diligent work to collect records documenting the great accomplishments and trials experienced by the saints during the late 1800s through much of the early-twentieth century.
