Thomas Packer (ca.1460) married Margaret Kibblewhite (ca.1462) and lived in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, where they had five children between ca.1488-ca.1500. Descendants and relatives through the seventeenth century lived in Gloucestershire, Westminster (London County), Groombridge (Sussex County), Berkshire, Wiltshire and elsewhere. Some descendants lived in Ireland. Philip Packer (ca.1656-1739), direct descendant of Thomas in the sixth generation), immigrated in 1683 from Ireland to Burlington, New Jersey. Jonathan Taylor Packer (1817-1889), direct descendant in the fifth generation of Philip the immigrant, became a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married three times, moving to Brigham City, Utah and Safford, Arizona. The author's husband (Apostle Boyd K. Packer) is a direct descendant in the eighth generation of immigrant Philip Packer.
