"The One Game" was one of my favorite sappy stories growing up (and read it several times.) All students at BYU (Brigham Young University) play the "One Game" which is finding their "one and only," their "one true love."
The story centers around a group of college co-eds and their dating life at BYU.
The main character, Carol, is faced with a dilema. As a youth she was not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, but had dated a boy who was. She had thought that they were serious and was shocked, surprised and hurt when he chose to serve a mission for his church rather than marry her.
While he was away Carol investigated the church and became a member. Once she started attending BYU, hundreds of miles from home, she never imagined that she would have to face him again. But she was wrong.
A super fun, all-be-it cheesy tale of love and the heart-aches that come with it.
