Yoshihiko Kikuchi received the call in October 1977 to be a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. He began to compile all of President Kimball's messages to the new mission presidents and to the Regional Representatives delivered since he became Church President in December 1973. As he read the messages he felt recognized that his great faith had secured for us a tremendous insight and depth of understanding about missionary work, and felt a burning desire to share with others the mind and will of the Lord on this subject as revealed to his prophet.
