The aim of The Creation is to examine the creation of the earth, with its plants and animals, in the light of what God has revealed and what science has discovered. Since knowledge from these two sources is not always in agreement, the book must deal with controversy. But there is more than conflict. One of the greatest blessing of living in the dispensation of the fulness of times is that science makes it possible to appreciate the creation as never before. Knowing the intricacies of what God has wrought allows us to know God better.
Divided into four sections, the book considers the information provided by science as well as by religion and the limitations of each; the creation accounts of Abraham and Moses, which provide profound insight into the spiritual aspects of creation and the planning and design that guided creation; findings in the fields of astronomy, geology, and biology that have caused a revolution in thought during the past two decades, and their contributions to a better understanding of creation; and several possible scenarios of creation, interpreting and summarizing various scientific and religious theories of creation.
''There are tentative ways to reinterpret and reconcile science and/ or the revealed creation accounts,'' the author declares; ''yet a total reconciliation must await future knowledge. But enough information is now available from both sources to thrill and inspire us and to intensify the depths of our worship."
