A favorite among the lies Satan whispers, the illusion that sinning will actually aid us in helping others is a trap many fall into. Yet this trap is only a half-truth. While it is true that helping others is a good thing, the deception comes in convincing us that we cannot help others without first succumbing to, and therefore understanding, the sin. In this lie the only ones who could effectively help others overcome their sins would be those who have committed that sin themselves. Yet if this were a reality, then Jesus would not have been able to warn or teach anyone a single thing. Society has no shortage of examples of people who have destroyed their lives through sin but in the end, it is from the one who had no sin that we can learn the most.
