About Product:

You take yourself wherever you go, so you might as well like your own company. The purpose of this book is to help each reader live with himself comfortably-not by some method of "escape," but by recognizing realities and applying principles here spelled out which will bring successful living and inner peace.

The author (a child, family, and marriage counselor) begins the book with a very practical approach to life: Everyone has problems; the secret of a happy, productive life is to learn to handle those problems, not to withdraw, become obsessed, or give in to despair. He then discusses some of the myths and misunderstandings which plague us, such as that hardships are divine punishment, unconditional love means being passive, and permissiveness fosters learning.  Next, the book deals with specifics, showing the problem, discussing means of handling it, and offering suggestions as to how to change negative behavior. Fear, guilt, depression, losing weight, sex problems, marital problems, when divorced remarry, and alcohol and drugs are some of the topics discussed.

This book is written for the layman. The chapters, though brief, are replete with story examples from the author's practice. And although not everyone will have these specific problems, the sound counsel given here will help every reader understand those principles which lead to a positive life-style and will give encouragement and practical help in personal or family life or in other relationships.
